"There's a wonderful old italian joke about a poor man who goes to church every day and prays before the statue of a great saint, begging, 'Dear saint- please, please, please... give me the grace to win the lottery.' This lament goes on for months. Finally the exasperated statue comes to life, looks down at the begging man and says in weary disgust, 'My son- please, please, please- buy a ticket.'..."

- Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat Pray Love

I have watched Eat, Pray, Love once or twice before, but a few nights ago I watched it again, I guess I felt the need to do so. It's a film directed by Ryan Murphy and produced by Brad Pitt and several others. It stars the beautiful Julia Roberts who did a remarkable moving performance, that made me feel warm and inspired during and after.

But this particular time that I watched it, I was so touched by all the quotes and messages narrated throughout the film by Julia as her character 'Elizabeth Gilbert'. Especially the quote above because through experience and observation I've realised that you're not going to achieve or get what you desire or need without taking a single step, or as the quote suggests, unless you buy a ticket. I think that this quote reminded me that we need to remind ourselves and others to sometimes we have to be brave and take a leap of faith, take that step, that risk. Because what we don't realise, is that could be the opportunity you've been waiting for, or the beauty and peace you've been searching for...

Are you going to brave?
